Forum Title: Tucking carpet with seaming tape
I have a hardwood guy that has me tuck carpet to his finished or refinished hardwood. Is there a trick to tucking the carpet when it is seamed in the doorway and the seam is 3/4-1 inch from the edge? It is either really stiff or the seam opens or both. there has to be something simple I am over looking. (This stems from who ever installed the carpet not putting the seam under the door but 0n the inside of the door)

Can you power stretch the carpet and eliminate the need for the seam tape?

Possibly double row of tackstrip and staple/hotglue the carpet down. This may hold the seam down so it doesn't split apart...just a thought. OR...a T-transition that doesn't require tucking the edge.
